Welcome to our first update of 2023! We have a huge year ahead at the Townsville Choral Society, and we can't wait to share it with you. The year kicks off with our first musical, Singin' In the Rain. The ridiculously talented cast of this show is ready to entertain you at the Civic Theatre with this classic broadway show opening in just over a week; there are still some great seats available - but they won't last!
Our award-winning choir has been on a small break, but we return on the 31st of January to start preparing for the 2023 NQ Eisteddfod in Cairns- this is always a highlight of the year for our choir, and we welcome old and new members to join us!
We finish this update with the much-awaited announcement of our second 2023 musical, Freaky Friday, with an information night just around the corner.

Journey back to the glamour of Hollywood during the roaring 20’s where silent movie star Don Lockwood has it all, a string of hit films and a studio-engineered romance with the most beautiful actress in town. But Hollywood is about to change. A new kind of film is rumoured to be in production - a film where the actors sing and dance… and TALK! But a chance meeting with a talented young chorus girl who steals his heart changes everything for Don, for Hollywood, forever.
Featuring all the glitz and glamour of the golden age of Hollywood, Singin’ in the Rain is filled with every memorable moment from the film and a downpour of unforgettable songs including ‘Make ‘em Laugh’, ‘Good Morning’, ‘Moses Supposes’ and the defining ‘Singin’ in the Rain’.
